Thunder Road isre-set for Sunday
BARRE – Thunder Road officials announced the postponement of Northfield Savings Bank night, originally scheduled for Thursday.
The event was postponed due to rain and rescheduled for Sunday, July 6 with a post time of 6:30p.m. Sunday’s event will include a full card of racing followed by a fireworks show immediately following the night’s racing. There will also be Kid’s Race Car Rides.
Former championsNick Sweet of Barre and Derrick O’Donnell of North Haverhill, N.H. ride neck-and-neck atop the Thunder Road Late Model standings separated by just one point. It’s still early in the season and they are followed closely by a host of others including John Donahue, Jason Corliss, Cody Blake, Dave Pembroke and Phil Scott.
Waterbury’s Jason Woodard leads the way in the Bond Auto Tiger Sportsmen division with Brendan Moodie, George May, Doug Crowningshield and Jeff Bousquet not far behind. The Allen Lumber Street Stocks saw a new point leader following last Thursday’s event in two-time feature winner Jamie Davis of Wolcott. Defending Champion Bunker Hodgdon, young Jaden Perry, Donny Yates and Tyler Austin among others look for their chance to take over the point lead.
The title hunts continue Sundaywith Northfield Savings Bank night. The Late Models, Tigers, Street Stocks and Rough Riders will all be in action beginning at the 6:30p.m. post time and immediately following the night’s events will be the annual holiday fireworks show.
