EAST MONTPELIER — The U-32 Green Team, students working to make the school “a more carbon-neutral, ecological and environmentally friendly place,” is hosting its second annual U-32 Green Festival on May 15 at the school.

According to a news release, “The Green Festival is a day where our entire learning community celebrates all we can do to improve our school and the five towns in our supervisory union for the benefit of the environment.”

The school is seeking businesses, organizations and others with a stake in a greener world to have informational tables at the school from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

At 1:25 p.m., a one-hour assembly will be held with a speaker still to be determined.

Half of students will attend the assembly, and groups and organizations that take part in the event are asked to provide workshops, video screenings, talks and activities for the others.

Organizations are also invited to submit plans for a presentation to students ranging from 40 minutes to an hour in length.

Those interested in being part of the festival should email Michael Horowitz at mhorowitz@u32.org or call 498-8210.
