Flore B. Boutin Rites
BARRE — A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Wednesday, April 16, 2014, at 11 a.m. in St. Monica Catholic Church in Barre for Flore B. Boutin. She passed away on April 12, 2014, at Central Vermont Medical Center in Berlin.
The Rev. Leopold J. Bilodeau, pastor of the church, was the celebrant. Crucifer Lawrence Reilly was altar server and led the Prayer of the Faithful.
Organist and vocalist Rosemary Badeau accompanied singers Romeo Bilodeau and Ronald Routhier in the hymns “Here I Am Lord,” “I Know That My Redeemer Lives,” “Be Not Afraid,” “J’irai La Voir Un Jour” and “On Eagles Wings.”
Words of remembrance were shared by her daughter, Diane Boutin Blake; she also read a poem, “My Angel is My Mother,” by Breana D. Greathouse.
Scripture readings from the Old Testament were read by Careen Floyd, and Jennifer Janiak read Scriptures from the New Testament, both granddaughters.
Offertory gifts were presented at the altar by her granddaughters Alyssa Akers, Kelley Boucher and Kara Boutin.
Assisting as Eucharistic minister was Cecile Carbonneau, a family friend.
Pallbearers were Tom Boutin, Curtis Wilkin, Bryan Boutin, Colin Floyd and Kyle Boutin, grandsons, and Dylan Wilkin, a great-grandson.
A prayer service was held Wednesday morning at the Pruneau-Polli Funeral Home in Barre and was led by Father Leo.
Entombment followed the Mass at the Elmwood vault in Barre. A later burial will be in St. Sylvester Cemetery in Lower Websterville, Vt.
Following the entombment, family and friends gathered at the Barre Elks Lodge 1535 for a time of fellowship and luncheon.
