• Rep. Klein to host discussion about U-32, Montpelier schools working together

    MONTPELIER — Lamakers representing Montpelier and U-32 school districts will host a conversation with community members Wednesday, April 23, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the State House in Room 11, where the topic will be increasing educational opportunities for students.

    The discussion will be hosted by Rep. Tony Klein, D-East Montpelier.

    During the 2013-14 biennium, the Legislature improved the following educational opportunities, according to a news release about the event:

    n Increasing the number of eligible students from low-income families who can afford school lunches.

    n Providing high school students with more flexible pathways to graduation, including access to college courses.

    n Requiring personal learning plans for all secondary school students.

    n Passing legislation that creates universal access to publicly funded preschool for any 3- or 4-year-old who enrolls.
