MONTPELIER — City voters face two key dates this week if they wish to take part in the April 15 vote on the revised Montpelier school budget, which was narrowly defeated in March at the annual city elections.

The amended school budget will be the only article for voters to decide.

Today at 5 p.m. is the legal deadline, said City Clerk John Odum, for voters to register in time to be eligible to vote April 15. The city clerk’s office in City Hall will remain open until 5 p.m. today to accommodate new registrants, but after 4:30 p.m. citizens will have to enter through the back door of City Hall, he said.

In addition, the clerk’s office will be open Saturday for early voting from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. No other clerk business will be transacted during this time, he said.

Any questions or concerns may be directed to Odum or Assistant City Clerk Crystal Chase by calling 223-9500.

The amended school budget proposal is $17,281,225, plus a grant budget of $610,578, for a total school budget of $17,891,803.
