NORTHFIELD — Police say a St. Johnsbury man has been cited on suspicion of drunken driving in Northfield.

Scott C. Rodd, 35, was pulled over on North Main Street shortly after midnight Saturday, and police say it was determined Rodd had tampered with the ignition interlock device, or breath analyzing device, attached to the car. The device allows the operator to drive only if he or she has not consumed alcohol.

Rodd was cited on charges of driving under the influence and driving with a suspended license. He is scheduled to appear in Washington County criminal court in Barre, but no date was given.
