• Environment award nominees sought

    MONTPELIER — The state of Vermont is now taking applications for the 2014 Governor’s Awards for Environmental Excellence.

    The deadline to apply is Jan. 27.

    The awards were established in 1993 to honor Vermonters’ efforts to conserve and protect natural resources, prevent pollution and promote sustainability.

    So far the work of 200 individuals, organizations, institutions, public agencies and businesses has been honored.
