    Market boosts downtown

Another summer farmers market season has come and gone. From my perspective as a pretty regular farmers market shopper, the synergy between the market and other downtown activity has never been clearer. I think it would be unfortunate if the market were moved out of the downtown core. I have heard the Vermont College green mentioned as a site, and while the grassy space and historic surroundings have a strong allure, I think keeping the market downtown is important not only for the market’s sake, but also because of the spin-off business and general buzz it generates downtown. I think the more activity downtown, the better.
