MORETOWN — Residents will vote Nov. 5 on construction of a new town office.

An informational meeting about the project is scheduled for Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the Moretown Town Hall. The agenda also calls for a short history about how the town arrived at an office design, an explanation of the project’s influence on taxes, and a period for questions, comments and answers.

The town has been working on a new town office since December 2011 and has been awarded a $700,000 federal grant through the Vermont Department of Housing and Community Affairs to offset the $865,000 cost of the office. The use of insurance and other monies means the town is planning to use $40,000 of short-term borrowing for the project.
