    Mini Maker Faire

    set for Shelburne

SHELBURNE — Engineers, craft makers, teachers and science clubs will gather next weekend at Shelburne Farms to show off what they’ve made.

The two-day Champlain Mini Maker Faire is part science fair, part country fair that gives the public a chance to interact with local makers while celebrating arts, engineering, science and technology.

This second annual event will include Bina48, a robot that uses artificial intelligence to mimic human personality and carry on a conversation.

There will also be robot making, rocket launching, junk music, smokeless s’mores and an 8-foot-tall dragon.

Executive Event Producer Doug Webster said the goal is to help renew a culture of innovation within the community, to foster innovation and creativity, and to engage youth in science, engineering and technology.
