BARRE - Four people, three of them from New York, have been arrested on cocaine possession charges at a motel in the Vermont city of Barre.
Police said they responded to an assault complaint at the Days Inn on Monday night. They saw drugs, drug paraphernalia and guns in a room occupied by the four people.
After getting a search warrant, police seized two handguns, white powder that later tested positive for cocaine and marijuana from the room and a car.
They arrested 23-year-old Nathan Gore, 22-year-old Dwayne Miley and 18-year-old Byron Mathews, all of New York; and 28-year-old Hope Nisen of Barre. The four were being arraigned Tuesday afternoon in Washington County District Court. It wasn't immediately known if they had lawyers.MORE IN This Just InThe Associated Press Full StoryLocal contractors are looking forward to a busy construction season — a sign of an improving...
