Teenager cited in Plainfield home invasion
PLAINFIELD — Vermont State Police say an Essex Junction teen broke into a Plainfield home early Tuesday.
State police say Philip Hoeppner, 64, was at home on Cameron Road when he heard a noise inside his house. When Hoeppner yelled to see what the noise was, he heard a loud crash and the door to his residence opening. State police say a passer-by told Hoeppner a male juvenile had been seen running from the house into a wooded area.
Police say items had been tampered with and a piece of jewelry taken.
The juvenile was later found with the assistance of police dogs and cited on a burglary charge.
The teen, whose name has not been released, is to be arraigned in Washington County criminal court in Barre on Oct. 17.MORE IN This Just InGov. Peter Shumlin chats with Vermont Press Bureau chief Neal P. Full Story
