    Crew did an amazing job

Two years ago we at the Country Club of Barre were given the honor of hosting the 2013 Vermont State Amateur Golf Championship. For two years we prepared and made changes to both the course and clubhouse with the goal of making the 2013 edition of this prestigious golf tournament the best ever. This letter is a public thank you to the members of our golf club, members of the Vermont Golf Association, all of the volunteers, the players, spectators and media for helping us achieve that goal. We would also like to thank the local hotels and restaurants for welcoming and treating all of the players and their families to tremendous service and hospitality.

We were thrilled to host the best amateur golfers in the state and would like to applaud them for both the quality of their play and character. The media also receive high marks for the outstanding pictures, articles and videos they produced while making sure not to disturb the players.

Special honors go to the Country Club of Barre’s Superintendent Bill Evans and his dedicated crew. The golf course was in immaculate condition for the tournament. The course held its own, providing a stern but very fair test of golf to all of the participants.

Thank you again to all those involved for your time, dedication and passion as it made for the best Vermont State Amateur Golf Championship yet. We look forward to the honor of hosting the championship in the near future.
