Shirley L. Papineau Rites
BARRE — The funeral service and celebration of life for Shirley L. Papineau, 79, of Bolster Avenue, was held on Friday, August 9, 2013, at 11 a.m. in the Bethany United Church of Christ in Montpelier. She passed away on Saturday, August 3, 2013, at her home.
The officiant was Theresa Lever. Organist Arthur Zorn led the congregation in the hymns, “Morning Has Broken” and “In The Sweet By and By,” and the songs, “Swing Low, Sweet Chariot” and “Keep On The Sunny Side.” Daughter-in-law Amy Papineau and granddaughters Kate and Mary Papineau sang “Hallowell.” Amy also sang “The Lord’s Prayer” along with her sisters, Kathy Cowens and Judy Ribolini, and friends Theresa Lever and Arthur Zorn.
Grandson Chad Papineau read “Miss Me But Let Me Go” and granddaughter Jessica Vest read “My First Christmas In Heaven.” Tributes to Shirley were given by daughter Paula Winter, son Gerald Papineau, grandson Travis Papineau, granddaughter Kimberly Cremo, daughter-in-law Linda Papineau and son-in-law Jon Winter.
Following the service, family and friends gathered in the church fellowship hall for a time of sharing and refreshments.
