MIDDLESEX —Vermont state police say a 67 year-old Vermont man died in a late afternoon motorcycle accident on Route 14 in Williamstown Saturday.

According to state police, Alan C. Jefferys of Brookfield was traveling south on Route 14 when he veered off the right side of the road colliding with guard rails. He was ejected off the motorcycle and was pronounced dead on the scene by EMS personnel.

State police said speed does not appear to be a factor in the accident.
