Letís get our focus back
My mother has an old saying for everything. Hereís one for the governor, ďNo good deed goes unpunished.Ē
The governor did not approach and con his neighbor out of his land. He is not responsible for Mr. Dodgeís problems. Mr. Dodge approached Mr. Shumlin. Mr. Shumlin told him to get help from his family and to get a lawyer. He then bailed this man out and helped him.
As a property owner in East Montpelier and elsewhere I can assure you Mr. Shumlin did not need the headaches of dealing with the Dodge property. Just drive by it. Iím glad the governor is allowing him to back out of the deal and continues to help Mr. Dodge. However, donít we as a state and the governor have more important things to deal with like health care, education and taxes?
The Republican politicians getting involved is absurd. I would take ethics advice from the Republican Party like I would take diet advice from Rush Limbaugh or Karl Rove or marriage advice from Newt Gingrich or Mark Sanford.
