• Vandals close Harwood
    May 01,2013

DUXBURY - Vermont State Police say Harwood Union High School was vandalized Tuesday night.
State police say someone broke into the school, damaged plumbing and clogged several drains, causing parts of the school to flood. The school is closed today for cleanup and state police say the incident is under investigation.
Anyone with information is asked to contact state police at the Middlesex barracks at 229-9191.
Because of the flooding, there will be no athletic events hosted at the school today. According to an email from Sue Duprat, athletic director at Harwood, girls and boys lacrosse practice has been canceled, the track meet has been moved to U-32, with a bus leaving from Harwood at 2:30 p.m. and the junior varsity home game might be moved to Peoples Academy, but Duprat said that is still to be determined.
All away matches, such as girls and boys tennis and golf have not changed and softball practice is still on at Dac Rowe Fields.
