DERBY — A 22-year-old Waterbury woman is facing a criminal drug charge after a routine traffic stop on Route 105 early Thursday evening.

State police said they pulled over an eastbound vehicle owned by Allison Rich shortly after 7:30 p.m. after noticing it was missing a front license plate. During the stop, police said they smelled “un-burnt” marijuana in the vehicle.

Police said Rich, who was a passenger in her vehicle, consented to a roadside search. Police said they seized 6.5 grams of marijuana and “three smoking devices.”

Rich was cited to appear at the criminal court in Newport on June 25, when she is expected to be arraigned on the possession charge.
