BARRE — Members of Spaulding High School’s Junior ROTC Drill Team will get some high-profile practice in the run-up to their participation in a national competition next month.

The students have been invited to Fenway Park on Thursday to present the colors as the Boston Red Sox open a four-game series with the Houston Astros. The game is scheduled to start at 6:30 p.m.

The so-called Granite Battalion has a much longer road trip coming soon. The team is scheduled to travel to Daytona Beach, Fla., on May 4 to compete in the National High School Drill Team Championships. The team is one of only 35 in the country to be accepted to compete in the “open level color guard” division of the weekend-long competition.
