RANDOLPH ó Sybil (Burnett) Williams, 96, passed away peacefully at Mayo Healthcare in Northfield, Vt., on Sunday, March 31, 2013.
Sybil was born April 19, 1916, in Savoy, Mass., to the late Melvin and Alice (Sandford) Burnett. She was brought up in Savoy, attended Savoy grammar school and graduated from Drury High School in North Adams, Mass., in 1934.
She married Harold Williams, of Savoy, on Aug. 19, 1939. She resided with her family in the Drury section of Florida, Mass., for over 60 years. From 1956 to 1976, she served as the administrative secretary for the North Berkshire School Union superintendentís office in Clarksburg, Mass.
Her interests included gardening, cooking, music, travel, snowmobiling, photography and quilting.
She was predeceased by her husband, Harold Williams, and her sister, Barbara Burnett. She is survived by two daughters, Judith McCarroll and her husband, Ralph, of Frisco, Colo., and Marilyn Williams and her husband, Ronald Kovanic, of Randolph, Vt., and her son, Robert Williams, and his wife, Glenda McKinnon, of Truro, Nova Scotia, and five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the management and staff of both the Windover House of Randolph, Vt., and Mayo Healthcare of Northfield, Vt., for the excellent care Sybil received during the time that she spent in those locations. The immediate family is comforted knowing that Sybil, while in her last years gracefully endured an ever-advancing condition of Alzheimerís disease, can now rest in peace. She will be missed.
A memorial service at the Florida Baptist Church and burial at Bellevue Cemetery in Adams, Mass., will take place at a later date.
