BARRE — A Granite City man is facing charges of stealing items from Goddard College.
Douglas F. Burns, 23, pleaded not guilty to two counts of felony burglary in Washington County criminal court Thursday. If convicted, he faces a maximum of 30 years and a $2,000 fine.
According to the Vermont State Police affidavit, last November Burns stole $400 in cash and a cellphone, raking up around $400 in data usage.
Burns admitted to state police that he took money and a phone, but he thought it was around $60 and that the phone was his, until he got home and discovered it wasn’t. He also admitted to going into many college buildings at night in January with a woman to go “ghost hunting,” as he said the campus is haunted.MORE IN This Just InLYNDON — A passenger has been killed in a car accident in northern Vermont after the driver lost...
