NORTHFIELD – The commencement speaker for 2013 has been announced as Pulitzer Prize winning author Rick Atkinson.

Atkinson was a staff writer and senior editor at the Washington Post for more than 20 years. His bestseller “An Army at Dawn,” the first part of a trilogy of narrative history of the liberation of Europe in World War II, received the Pulitzer Prize.

Commencement will take place May 11.
