BURLINGTON — The Vermont Violent Offender Task Force says a fugitive who has been on the run for more than two years has been captured in Massachusetts.

The U.S. Marshal’s Service says Raul Velez, 43, of Lyndonville was arrested Monday in Springfield, Mass.

Velez is wanted by Burlington police.

The marshals said Velez was arrested in Vermont in 2003 on drug charges and again in 2007 for violating his probation.
