    Norma B. McLeod Rites

    NORTHFIELD — The service of remembrance and life celebration for Norma B. McLeod, of Mayo Residential Care, was held Saturday, March 9, 2013, at 11 a.m. in the First Presbyterian Church of Barre. She died March 4, 2013, at her home.

    The Rev. Carl Hilton Van Osdall, pastor of the church, led the service. Organist Alison Cheroff accompanied the congregation in the hymns, “For the Beauty of the Earth,” “Rock of Ages” and “Joyful, Joyful, We Adore Thee.”

    Words of remembrance were offered by son-in-law Paul Poirier and Montpelier High School classmate Olive Nicolino Franzi. The Rev. Carl also read some tribute letters from extended family.

    A sharing time, fellowship and refreshment followed in the church dining room.

    The interment ceremony preceded in Hope Cemetery, where the Rev. Hilton Van Osdall read the committal prayers.

    The Hooker and Whitcomb Funeral Home, 7 Academy St., Barre, was in charge of the arrangements.
