    Hylan O. Dickinson

    RANDOLPH — Hylan O. “Hiedie” Dickinson, 83, died Saturday, March 9, 2013, at Gifford Medical Center.

    He was born Oct. 10, 1929, in Roxbury, the son of Myrle F. and Ruth (Demar) Dickinson. 

    He served in the U.S. Army and married Gloria Marshall in 1950, then Lorraine Osgood in 1981. 

    He worked at Northfield Woolen Mills and was a truck driver for Williams Trucking in Barre and a crane operator at Rock of Ages. 

    He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion of White River Junction. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, going to lawn sales and camping.

    Survivors include his wife, Lorraine Dickinson, of Randolph; five siblings, Betty Dustin, Beverly Dukette, Rita Dunican, all of Northfield, Everett Dickinson, of Hyde Park, and Morton Dickinson, of Randolph; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. 

    He was predeceased by two sons, Gerdon and Bruce Dickinson, and two siblings, Allison Maxham-Pedroso and Melvin “Pete” Dickinson.

    The graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 13, in the Vermont Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Randolph Center. There are no calling hours. 

    Arrangements are under the direction of the Day Funeral Home.
