Union Elementary School principal won’t be back
MONTPELIER — Union Elementary School Principal Owen Bradley will resign at the end of this school year.
School board Chairwoman Sue Aldrich said Bradley has worked with the district since 2010 and has had his contract renewed in the past.
Administrator contracts in the district last for one year at a time.
School board member Lowell VanDerlip said the board held two executive sessions this year in which it discussed the issue. He said the board used a “personnel” exemption in the state open meetings law to keep the discussions private. Boards can talk privately about certain aspects of employees, such as their contracts, evaluations and disciplinary or dismissal actions.
School board members declined to elaborate on details of the case.
The resignation comes before Superintendent Brian Ricca was able to issue a recommendation on whether to renew Bradley’s contract, VanDerlip said.
Bradley was previously the Twinfield Union School principal.MORE IN This Just InWhen a playwright who has achieved success with dark realistic drama turns his pen to comedy, it... Full StorySAN FRANCISCO — A long legal battle over accusations that a prominent Silicon Valley venture... Full Story
