Vermont Public Service Board OKs South Newfane tower
NEWFANE — The Vermont Public Service Board has approved a 139-foot cellular tower in South Newfane.
AT&T has said the tower will provide much-needed service.
But the project has faced opposition from some residents who say it will be too close to their homes.
The Brattleboro Reformer reports (http://bit.ly/Zig7Wa) Newfane has an ordinance regulating communication towers. AT&T acknowledged that its proposed tower would violate height and setback requirements in that law. But it bypassed the local ordinance and applied directly to the state Public Service Board.
There's a separate effort to construct a cell tower in Newfane.MORE IN This Just InCOLCHESTER — Two year after Lake Champlain flooding destroyed part of it, the Colchester Causeway...
