• Montpelier Police Log: Loud noise reported as a mystery

    The following is a sampling of incidents as initially reported to Montpelier police.



    Feb. 25

    An upstairs fire escape door just flew open around 3:10 a.m. at a 64 Main St. apartment.



    Feb. 26

    An upstairs neighbor’s children created a disturbance by running around at about 7:40 p.m. at a Barre Street apartment.

    A vehicle was parked on a sidewalk on Elm Street.



    Feb. 28

    A person near Berlin and Phelps streets heard a loud crash shortly after 2 a.m. but couldn’t see what may have caused it.

    Someone drove off without paying for $73 worth of gas around 9 a.m. at DJ’s Convenience Store on River Street.



    March 1

    A woman was screaming in a parking lot around 2:45 p.m. along Barre Street.

    A tire was reported slashed around 6:30 p.m. on River Street.



    March 2

    A car and house were reported to have been hit with eggs around 10:30 a.m. on Pearl Street.

    A broken pipe was reported around 12:20 p.m. at 15 State St.

    A bus headed up Gallison Hill Road at 9:30 p.m. was stuck due to the road conditions.



    March 3

    A person said it appeared someone tried to pry open the back door of the Mad Taco on Main Street around 10 a.m.

    A man on a bike ran into a car on Main Street and then left around 4:30 p.m.
