$10,662,667 — $845,553, or 8.6 percent, more than the current year budget of $9,817,114. The change is largely due to health insurance and salary increases, some $280,000 in additional programming because rising enrollment has required more staff and staffing hours, and special education costs.
Harwood Union High School budget
$13,015,259 — $922,644, or 7.6 percent, more than the current school year budget of $12,092,615. Due to state law, the school budget this year meets certain criteria to be broken into two questions because the district’s spending per pupil last year was more than the statewide average and this year’s proposed budget is greater than last year’s budget adjusted for inflation. The first part will consider $12,866,914 and another, if the first part passes, for the remaining $128,345.
