MONTPELIER — A local nonprofit organization has received a grant from the March of Dimes to help teens with a high-risk pregnancy.
The Washington County Youth Service Bureau/Boys and Girls Club’s Teen Parent Program was given $3,800 as part of the March of Dimes chapter community grants program to promote healthy outcomes in teen pregnancies. The goal is to decrease premature births and aid in the delivery of healthy birth weight babies.
The Teen Parent Program provides social services and emotional support while helping pregnant and parenting teens access community resources. The program assists about 30 pregnant and parenting teens and their children each year.
