Don’t ruin black bear habitat
Shall we blast away our ancient Vermont mountaintop black bear habitat to save the polar bear? That way we may lose both.
Is the radiant fireball coming to boil the waters of Lake Champlain, Joe’s Pond and the old swimmin’ hole this very legislative session? Are wind towers the ultimate savior? Won’t climate change come anyway? Hasn’t it come before? Maybe we Vermonters should use less destructive measures to thwart impending global “catastrophe.” Maybe Vermont will survive the embarrassment of not hastily spending federal funds on earth-changing industrial wind projects already feverishly cropping up around the state and spend it more wisely. We are not fools. We can find a better way. We owe it to our children, our wildlife and our mountains to try.
