A large crane is used recently in construction of the new wood chip-fired central heating plant next to the existing plant at Norwich University in Northfield.

Norwich announced this week the plant is designed to replace the burning of approximately 657,000 gallons of fuel oil with 12,977 tons of wood chips per year, with the wood chip supply coming from within a 100-mile radius of the campus.
