Forecast Discussion:

LOW pressure that brought a few to several inches of snow to nearly the entire state yesterday is off the Massachusetts coast now and whisking rapidly eastward. Behind it is a good deal of low-level moisture that'll make for mostly cloudy skies today. Thin spots in the clouds may let through some watery sun around midday, but in general it'll be a mild, unsettled 36-48 hours as a couple of packets of energy at mid-levels lift into New England during that period. The first will reactivate a warm front now just to our south, and give us some showers overnight; the second will push the warm front well to our north Wednesday and give us a slug of rain Wednesday evening ahead of a sharp cold front that'll move through later Wednesday night and return us to seasonably cold conditions. There may be a few record highs for the date set tomorrow afternoon or evening in the strong southerly flow along and ahead of the cold front.
