• Barre Area Senior Center receives grant for book group

    BARRE ó The Barre Area Senior Center has received a $2,000 grant from the Vermont Community Foundation for the centerís book discussion group.

    The support comes from the foundationís Small and Inspiring Grant Program. The senior center says the money will be used to buy books and slideshows to promote readings and group discussions.

    The center welcomes any seniors in the central Vermont area to join the group, which meets once a month. Books that will be read and discussed can be picked up at the senior center at 135 N. Main St.
