Mary E. Ross Rites
PLAINFIELD — The life celebration for Mary E. Ross of School Street was held Thursday, January 3, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in the Graniteville Presbyterian Church. She died December 26, 2012 at the Woodridge Nursing Home in Berlin.
The Rev. Rebecca Strader, pastor of the church, conducted the service. Pianist Richard Shadroui led the congregation in the hymns “Be Thou My Vision,” “Amazing Grace” and “Silent Night.” He also accompanied soloist Paula Chiuchiolo in the songs “Let It Be,” “When Irish Eyes are Smiling,” with the congregation joining in, and “O Danny Boy.”
Daughter Betsy Ross read the poem “Stepping out with a Memory Tonight.” Daughter Nancy Parks read an essay written by Erma Bombeck and daughter Andrea Carbonneau offered memories of her Mom and remembrances from Mary’s daughter Susan Lawson, who was unable to be here.
Later interment will be made in the Vermont Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Randolph Center.
Representatives were in attendance from the Vermont State Police and the Governors Highway Safety Program.
Fellowship and luncheon followed at the Hilltop Restaurant in Barre Town.
