• Barre police log: Rude awakening the day after Christmas

    The following is a sampling of calls reported to Barre police in recent days.



    Dec. 24

    A vehicle hit a stone mailbox on North Main Street around 9 a.m. Injuries were reported.

    Someone found a “very cold” shepherd mix on Allen Street.

    There was a two-car accident on South Main Street around 1 p.m. No injuries were reported.

    A man came home and found all of his personal property missing on Eastern Avenue.

    Someone was throwing clothes out of an apartment on South Main Street.

    A woman found a white cat on Fairview Street.



    Dec. 25

    On Summer Street, a man “came bursting” into a woman’s apartment after she “borrowed” a battery from him.

    Someone was “doing donuts” and racing up and down Granite Street.

    A man was smashing lights and trying to rip out posts on North Main Street.



    Dec. 26

    An upstairs neighbor was intentionally waking people up around 5 a.m. on Summer Street.

    The traffic lights on North Main Street were not cycling correctly.

    There was a two-car accident on North Main Street around 5:15 p.m. No injuries were reported.

    On Merchant Street, a woman was screaming at the top of her lungs about killing people.



    Dec. 27

    Vehicles were stuck on Seminary Street, Berlin Street and Hill Street.

    Kids were sliding in the roadway on East Street.

    A store on North Main Street received a counterfeit $20 bill.



    Dec. 28

    A man in dark blue jeans urinated in front of five children on Ossola Place.

    There was a two-car accident on North Main Street around 6:15 p.m. One person complained of pain in the lower back.

    A car was abandoned in the middle of Portland Street.

    On Nelson Street, an officer killed an injured deer.



    Dec. 29

    There was a two-car accident on Summer Street around 11:15 a.m. No injuries were reported.

    On Prospect Street, a woman threatened another woman after she refused to move her vehicle.

    A car came down Tremont Street and ended up stuck on a man’s lawn on Abbott Avenue.
