• Men charged in tire thefts

    BERLIN — Four men from Rhode Island have been caught stealing thousands of dollars worth of rims and tires from dealerships in Vermont and New Hampshire, according to police.

    Berlin police said Mark W. Jennings, 26, Wayne M. Jennings, 24, Julian Contreras, 20, and Michael A. Peno, 20, face charges of grand larceny and unlawful mischief. The men are accused of stealing tires and rims from 802 Toyota and Town and Country Honda
    in Berlin totaling around $23,000 in stolen and damaged property.

    Police say two of the men were caught Dec. 15 trying to steal tires and rims from a Honda dealership in Lebanon, N.H. The other two men were later taken into custody.

    All four are being held in Grafton County Jail in North Haverhill, N.H., facing charges in that state as well.
