Defending Mrs. Bush
I was disappointed in your recent article about a personnel matter at Union Elementary School. What happened to innocent until proven guilty? Mrs. Bush has been teaching at Union School for many years. My child was in her class during the same year as one of the parents quoted in your article. I volunteered in the class frequently and did not find it chaotic. Nor did I find Mrs. Bush, “a disaster.” If you are going to print such comments, you should at least ask around to see if other parents might have a different view. I am not trying to belittle the parents’ concerns. Certainly, they should be addressed. Like all of us, Mrs. Bush is not perfect. But a teacher’s job is a hard one. And your article did a great disservice to someone who has worked hard and cared deeply for our kids.
