• Barre police log: Morphine stolen; couch and safe left on properties

    The following is a sampling of calls Barre police responded to in recent days.



    Dec. 5

    A 2004 Green Honda CRV was stolen from Winter Meadow.

    The missing Honda CRV was found on Veeder Avenue and appeared to have been ransacked.

    A man wearing a long beige coat was standing in a womanís driveway on Orange Street.



    Dec. 6

    A car ran over a womanís foot on North Main Street.

    There was a two-car accident on Camp Street around 4:45 p.m. No injuries were reported.

    A traffic light at the intersection of North Main and Washington streets was not working properly.



    Dec. 7

    A vehicle hit a house on Prospect Street around 2 a.m. The man driving the vehicle fled on foot.

    On Brooklyn Street, a man found a smashed safe on his porch.

    Someone stole a bottle of liquid morphine on South Main Street.

    A womanís sonís Xbox was stolen on Second Street.



    Dec. 8

    A pit bull mix was running around on peopleís property on Prospect Street.

    On North Main Street, a man stole a bottle of wine.



    Dec. 9

    Two men broke into the back of a truck on Granite Street.

    Someone dumped a couch in a manís driveway on Hill Street.

    On East Parkside Terrace, someone removed the Christmas lights from a house and left them in the middle of the road.
