BERLIN — A Barre woman who allegedly was caught on camera walking off with someone else’s wallet in the emergency room waiting area at Central Vermont Medical Center late last month is expected to face criminal charges next month.

According to Berlin police, Jaimee Lee Renfrew was arrested in connection with the case after an investigation into a report they received Nov. 21. That investigation involved reviewing footage from one of the hospital’s security cameras.

Though police offered no details about the incident, hospital officials confirmed it involved a wallet that was inadvertently left on a vending machine in the emergency room waiting area. It was unclear whether that person was a patient. However, footage from the security camera allegedly revealed a woman whom police later identified as Renfrew taking the wallet.

Renfrew was arrested and is to be arraigned early next month at the criminal courthouse in Barre, police said.
