GEORGIA — A wood pellet stove is being investigated as the possible source of a fire that’s destroyed a home in the Vermont town of Georgia.

Fire crews were called about 11 a.m. Saturday, but the home was engulfed with flames by the time they arrived.

Firefighters told WCAX-TV that the occupant said he heard popping noises in the basement and found smoke near a pellet stove, with flames shooting up the back wall of the house.

    Nobody was injured.

    The fire is under investigation.
