Poirier wrong to take dispute public

I was watching the Barre City Council on TV this morning, Oct. 17. The council has done a wonderful job in working to improve Barre City. I appauld their efforts.

I was appalled, however, to hear Paul Poirier dress down George Malek at a public hearing. As a former teacher, he should know if he has “a bone to pick” with Mr. Malek or the Chamber of Commerce, he needs to take Mr. Malek aside and let him know. George Malek has every right to make his opinion on the trash issue known. It is too bad that free speech today in our “civilized society” means it’s OK to act uncivilized with our neighbors.
