BARNET — Vermont State Police say a Barnet man has died in a motorcycle crash on Route 5.

Police say 25-year-old Andrew Shattuck missed a curve and went off the road and crashed into a dirt embankment on Sunday.

Shattuck, who was wearing a helmet, was thrown from the motorcycle and hit a rock outcropping. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Shattuck was traveling with two other motorcyclists when he went off the road. Police say they believe speed was a factor in the crash.
