SOUTH BURLINGTON — The Burlington International Airport plans to demolish or sell 54 vacant homes it acquired in recent years from willing residents as part of efforts to reduce noise impacts.
Aviation Director Robert McEwing said the hope is that some homes could be bought and moved to other sites or that they could be disassembled and used elsewhere.
He said the plan is to take about six months to knock down or move the homes.
Once the homes are sold or demolished, their cellar holes will be filled.
McEwing said the land would be seeded and that shrubs probably would be planted.MORE IN This Just InMONTPELIER — Gov. Full StoryMONTPELIER — Sen. Patrick Leahy, D-Vt. Full StoryMORETOWN — The town has applied for a disaster recovery grant. Full Story -
