ST. JOHNSBURY — An 86-year-old inmate at the Northeast Regional Correctional Facility in St. Johnsbury assaulted a corrections officer with bodily fluids, according to state police.
According to a police report, John Simon, of Peacham, spit in the face of John Buck on March 10. The incident occurred after prison guards went into Simon’s cell and found he had defecated on Styrofoam containers and written on the cell walls with feces, police said.
Simon was cited to appear in St. Johnsbury criminal court on the charge of assault on a corrections officer.
On Oct. 7, state police used a Taser on him after he allegedly assaulted a trooper. Troopers said they were responding to a report that Simon was trespassing at a property on Ha’Penny Road in Peacham and when they went to investigate, Simon tried to bite and kick a trooper.MORE IN This Just InCOLCHESTER — Two year after Lake Champlain flooding destroyed part of it, the Colchester Causeway...
