    @Normal:Keep wind local

    Wind power has been around for thousands of years as a clean, free, universal source of energy that has a very unique characteristic: It is local.

    For Vermonters, local is a core value. We meet every March to determine local issues. We grow our vegetables and cut our firewood locally. We are proud of being in charge of our own lives, because we have insisted on local control.

    Why would we ever give away our local control to some giant Louisiana energy company, or some far away oil company, or some hostile nation across the ocean, when we can harvest our own energy right here? Wind power is for us, here and now.
