ST. JOHNSBURY — A Lyndonville woman who allegedly drove her car off the road and into a small stream late last week is facing criminal charges in connection with that late-night crash.

According to police, Karyn Hale, 42, is expected to be charged with leaving the scene of an accident and negligent operation when she is arraigned on April 2.

Police said they responded to a report of an accident on Severance Hill Road in St. Johnsbury shortly after 10:30 p.m. last Thursday and discovered a vehicle abandoned in a small stream.

Police traced the vehicle to Hale, who was later cited in connection with the case.

According to police, the vehicle allegedly driven by Hale went off the west side of the road, struck a sign and then crossed back over the roadway before coming to rest in a small stream.
