SUTTON (AP) — The Sutton School is set to reopen Monday, nearly a month after it was closed after a foul odor was attributed to mold caused by a leaking roof. Some parents remain worried about indoor air quality at the school.
School officials say the roof leak has been fixed and that areas of the school affected by the mold have been or are being rebuilt.
Todd Hobson of Clay Point Associates Inc., the environmental consulting firm from Williston brought in to monitor the mold issue, says testing has shown air in the school is safe.
But at a meeting last week, some parents posed skeptical questions. Some maintain that high numbers of kids have had respiratory problems, which seem to be reduced when kids are on vacation.
