• Man facing charges of assault with ashtray

    ORLEANS — Vermont State Police said an Orleans man is facing aggravated domestic assault charges that he hit a family member in the head several times with a wooden ash tray, causing life-threatening injuries.

    Twenty-year-old Brandon Carbo was arrested following the incident, which was reported at about 9 p.m. Wednesday

    Police did not release the name of the victim, but said he was flown by helicopter ambulance to the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, N.H., for treatment. His condition was not available.

    Carbo was arrested and taken to the Northern State Correctional Facility in Newport.
