BERLIN — The host and at least one underage guest of a raucous party held on Muzzy Road this month are facing criminal charges, according to Berlin police.

Police say they cited Kyle Dailey, 27, of Berlin, with enabling the consumption of alcohol by minors during the April 15 party at his residence.

Police went there based on a report that a number of intoxicated underage people were in attendance. Vermont’s legal drinking age is 21.

One of those people was Kyle Marquez, 20, of Barre Town, according to police.

Marquez, who was arrested at the party at 2:30 a.m., faces multiple charges, including criminal possession of alcohol, assault on a police officer, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and unlawful mischief, police said.

Police described Marquez as combative and extremely intoxicated. They say he was yelling and screaming at them and other party-goers, and that he struck an officer in the face when he was being arrested on an outstanding warrant for criminal possession of alcohol.

Both Marquez and Dailey are scheduled to be arraigned in Barre criminal court May 31.

Police said they also responded to other incidents April 15 involving underage people who allegedly had been drinking at Dailey’s party. Details of those incidents were not released.
